Conversations between Giants fans get quite heated when the subject of Joe Schoen comes up. For full disclosure, I doubled down on the Giants GM on the eve of the 2024 season, giving him an endorsement despite anticipation of another 6-7 win season. Now that the Giants are over halfway through the season at the bye, it is only natural to assess the state of the franchise. We … [Read more...] about The Case For & Against Joe Schoen
The Toilet Bowl
After the 1983 season, Brad Van Pelt had a good season. So he went to George Young to ask for a raise. Young declined, saying that the Giants went 3-12-1, so he surely could lose without Van Pelt just as easily as he could lose with him. Tomorrow the Giants play the Panthers. PHL 28 NYG 3
I’m not a masochist. Neither are you. I left the sports bar at 7:03 left in Q3 with the game 21-3, and if the Giants had 36 more quarters to catch up it wouldn’t have mattered. The offense simply imploded after the loss of Andrew Thomas. Josh (“is doo doo”) Ezeudu has tanked the OL into familiar incompetent depths. This, of course, sends Daniel Jones into a predictable sack … [Read more...] about PHL 28 NYG 3
Andrew Thomas on Season-Ending IR
Another injury body blow. Andrew Thomas was hurt in Q3 vs the Bengals, and it is season-ending Lisfranc surgery. Whether it is Neal or Ezeudu, it will be hard to replace Thomas. Jones was busy getting rattled without his blind-side being a worry. Now? I shudder to think. The fanbase is done with Jones. He is consistently and maddeningly inconsistent. Losing the anchor Left … [Read more...] about Andrew Thomas on Season-Ending IR
