The Mets have 67 players in camp competing for spots on the roster.
With pitchers and catchers (and some position players) reporting to spring training today, the Mets published their full 2025 spring training roster. In total, 67 players will descend upon Port St. Lucie to compete for a spot on the team’s 26-man roster.
Among the names on the list are 36 pitchers (7 left-handers and 29 right-handers) who will be battling for 13 spots. The Mets are expected to go with a six-man rotation for much of the year, and five of those spots are spoken for—Kodai Senga, Sean Manaea, David Peterson, Frankie Montas, and Clay Holmes. The sixth spot will be one of the most intriguing battles this spring, with the likely contenders being Tylor Megill, Griffin Canning, and Paul Blackburn. The team also signed a number of relief pitchers who will look to fill the (likely) seven spots the club will allot for the bullpen.
Some of the team’s non-roster prospects will also make the trip to Port St. Lucie, including Brandon Sproat (No. 1 on Amazin’ Avenue’s Top 25 Mets prospects in 2025), Jett Williams (No. 2), Drew Gilbert (No. 6), Ryan Clifford (No. 7), Blade Tidwell (No. 16), Dominic Hamel (No. 20), Kevin Parada, and Luke Ritter. While these players aren’t expected to break camp with the Mets, they will have the opportunity to make a good impression in the hopes of earning a spot later this year or next.
Pete Alonso is the most notable absence, as the organization has not officially announced the signing yet. This will likely happen later this week. Below is a full list of all players who will be at Port St. Lucie with the Mets this spring.
