Spotify’s data shows that Mets fans are streaming the song a ton after
With the Mets winning some of the best games in franchise history lately, Mets fans are streaming Candelita’s banger “OMG” in droves lately. Spotify’s been tracking listens around some of the big Mets moments lately, and the numbers are pretty wild.
Thus far, the song’s highest-streaming day in the tri-state area was October 4, the day after the Mets beat the Brewers in Game 3 to advance to the NLDS. That day, streams of the track spiked 395 percent in the area. If you woke up the morning after a big win and blasted the track, you weren’t alone.
Here are some other notable big days for the track on Spotify:
- Back on July 25, “OMG” listens went up by 125 percent after the Mets beat the Yankees.
- On September 30, the day after a huge 5-0 win in Milwaukee and the day of the team’s doubleheader against the Braves, “OMG” listens increased 165 percent.
- The following day, with the Mets having clinched a playoff spot, streams spiked 185 percent.
- And after the Mets’ win over the Phillies in Game 4, streams rose by 70 percent.
