Yesterday we learned that ace Japanese right-hander Roki Sasaki will be posted by the Chiba Lotte Marines of Nippon Professional Baseball. Because he is under 25, he will be subject to international bonus pool money restrictions, similar to when Shohei Ohtani first came to the majors. The Mets are among many teams to have demonstrated interest in Sasaki, but executives believe the Dodgers and Padres are the favorites to sign him.
Besides the Los Angeles Dodgers, four other teams have expressed some level of interest in free-agent outfielder Teoscar Hernández, league sources said to Will Sammon and Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
