Meet the Mets
After two days off due to the postponements in Atlanta, the Mets began a crucial three-game series in Milwaukee last night with the playoffs on the line. Alas, the Brewers—who have already clinched their postseason spot and thus had nothing to play for—thoroughly outmatched New York from the beginning. A Rhys Hoskins grand slam off Sean Manaea in the first inning set the tone early, and the Mets never really had a chance after that. They ultimately fell 8-4 to Milwaukee to lose ground in the wild card race.
