Every game in the Mets vs. Phillies series will be played in the afternoon
MLB has announced the full schedule for the National League Division Series between the Mets and the Phillies, which begins tomorrow afternoon. The series follows a thrilling Wild Card round that saw the Mets defeat the Brewers in three games. The NL East champion Phillies, meanwhile, last played on Sunday, having earned a bye week with the second-best record in the National League.
As previously announced, the Phillies will host Game 1 on Saturday, October 5, and Game 2 on Sunday, October 6 at Citizens Bank Park. First pitch is scheduled for 4:08pm. The new bit of news involves the games at Citi Field on Tuesday, October 8, and Wednesday, October 9. First pitch for both of the Mets’ home games in this series is set for 5:08pm. Game 5 on Friday, October 11 at Citizens Bank Park (if necessary) will have a 4:08pm first pitch.
An entire series of afternoon games in the playoffs is pretty rare, but with the other NLDS featuring two west coast teams (the Dodgers and the Padres), it’s not too much of a surprise. The full slate is below:
