The Mets will play in Southern California on Sunday and Monday before returning home on Wednesday.
Although the Mets don’t know who or where they will be playing in the National League Championship Series, they now know when.
Announced by MLB earlier today, Sunday’s Game 1 will start at 8:15pm ET in either Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles or Petco Park in San Diego. On Monday, the game begins at 4:08pm ET, which is shockingly early local 1pm weekday start time, even though the day is Indigenous Peoples/Columbus Day and many are off of work/school. When the series returns to New York on Wednesday, the start time will be 8:08pm ET. All three games will air on FOX with Joe Davis and (shudders) John Smoltz on the call.
The Dodgers and Padres play Game 5 of the National League Division Series on Friday night after the Dodgers tied the series last night 8-0 in San Diego. Yu Darvish will start for the Padres, while the Dodgers have not announced a Game 5 starter as of yet.
