The roster is preliminary, but there are a bunch of interesting names on it.
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the Double-A affiliate of the Mets, have announced their preliminary Opening Day roster for the 2025 season. The team is set to include several of the Mets’ best prospects when the season gets underway in New Hampshire on Friday evening.
Jett Williams, who ranked second overall and first among position players on our list of the Mets’ top 25 prospects this year, is the headliner of the group. But on the position player side, he’s joined by Ryan Clifford (7th on our list) and Nick Morabito (19th), the latter of whom might particularly enjoy playing baseball at Mirabito Stadium, the Rumble Ponies’ home. With just two players listed as outfielders on this roster, there will presumably be some additions made before the season begins.
As for the best pitching prospects on the roster, Jonah Tong (4th) and Nolan McLean (5th) are the high-ranking players from our list. With that, let’s take a look at the full roster as it was announced.
