An improved design for the Knickerbockers!
The NBA dropped all 30 team courts for the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup last week.
Each court is fully painted and decked out in designs by artist Victor Solomon, that are apparently intended to resemble a video game with bold, colorful schemes. Some have slogans, like Detroit’s “In It For My City” or “Boom Baby” for the Pacers. During the tourney, home teams will don their Nike NBA Statement Edition jerseys, while the visiting squads will be in Nike NBA Association Edition uniforms.
Primarily, the court design consists of three concentric circles in each team’s colors shooting out from center court, representing the stages of the tournament: Group Play, Quarterfinals, and le grand finale in Vegas at T-Mobile Arena. Solomon teamed up with each franchise to add unique touches for every market.
Last year’s Knicks court had a bold, blue stripe through the center and the curious double-vision Knicks logo, as seen below:
This year’s court is more tasteful, with the standard logo in the center. As below:
