Shorthanded Knicks look to sweep the season-series against a depleted Milwaukee team.
The New York Knicks (45-27) head to Milwaukee tonight to battle the Bucks (40-32) at Fiserv Forum. Both teams are looking to rebound from recent losses and firm up playoff positioning in the Eastern Conference. Tip-off will be at 8:00 PM EDT.
Milwaukee is stumbling down the stretch, having losing six of their last 10 games. They’ll be without Damian Lillard tonight (get well soon), and Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as questionable. The Knicks will be shorthanded, too, with three of their rotational guards—Jalen Brunson, Miles McBride, and Cameron Payne—all sidelined by injury. Hence, tonight’s tilt could lean toward the healthier bench and whoever controls tempo.
In their last matchup on January 12, 2025, the New York Knicks decimated the Milwaukee Bucks 140-106 at the Garden. Jalen Brunson led the charge with 44 points, and Karl-Anthony Towns’ added a double-double of 30 points and 18 rebounds. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard contributed 24 and 22 points, respectively, for the Bucks, but the Knicks’ superior shooting, particularly from three-point range, was unstoppable.
he Bucks have lost two straight, and most recently to the Nuggets, 127-117. Their starting line-up will likely feature Kyle Kuzma, Kevin Porter, Jr., Gary Trent, Jr., Taurean Prince, and Brook Lopez. Starting for the Knicks? Either Tyler Kolek or Delon Wright at the point, followed by Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby, and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Prediction
ESPN.com favors the Knicks by 62%. Seems right. The Knicks, despite being shorthanded, have dominated the season series so far, winning the first two matchups by 22 and 34 points respectively. Without Dame and Giannis, the Bucks would have to scrape to make the play-in. Look for depleted Knicks to fall behind at times tonight, with tired legs and inexperience taking a toll, but they’ll rally in the end to sweep the three-game season series.
