Jalen Brunson has been named team captain of the New York Knicks, marking the first time the franchise has had a player in the role since Lance Thomas in 18-19.
Brunson is the 36th captain in franchise history.
The Knicks signed Brunson during the 2022 offseason and he finished fifth in MVP voting last season.
“The New York Knicks have a deep and storied history and today we are immensely proud to add to that lineage by naming Jalen Brunson as our captain,” said Leon Rose.
