Josh Hart finally scored in the preseason, but it was only two points on two shots and wasn’t enough for him to feel comfortable with his new role. He even floated a possible move to the bench after Friday’s 118-117 preseason loss to the Wizards. “I’m lost. I have no idea,” Hart said. “There’s a couple days before we have until Boston. So whether that’s trying to get a rhythm with that starting unit or we give somebody else a look and my role changes and comes off the bench and go with that unit. So just trying to figure out right now I pretty much have no idea. But we’ll see what happens in Boston (in the season opener Tuesday).” -via New York Post / October 19, 2024
What is your response to Josh Hart saying you can’t talk about winning because you never won anything in life? Brandon Jennings: Never won in life? Well, maybe if they win a title in New York, then he’ll have won something. He should be glad they made those two trades just now or they wouldn’t even have a shot at competing. We’ll see what happens this year. -via HoopsHype / October 16, 2024

After standing in the middle of his good friend and father beefing on national TV, Jalen Brunson placed blame on both parties for poor decisions. “I just wanted to address that families fight. Things were said. S–t should’ve been handled better on both sides but here we are,” Brunson said on his “Roommates Show” podcast. “Everyone thinks the world’s crumbling. Everyone thinks. … It is what it is at this point. But I just feel like it should’ve been handled way better.” -via New York Post / October 18, 2024

Julius Randle declined to delve into “personal stuff” in the wake of Donte DiVincenzo’s fiery exchange with Knicks assistant Rick Brunson. “Donte is a grown man. He was standing his ground,” Randle said Tuesday. “And he’s a competitor at heart. That’s just really what it is. I don’t really think much about it, it’s basketball at the end of the day. We’re not going to get into the personal stuff.” -via New York Post / October 16, 2024
