Shooting 39.7% from deep this season, Jalen will try to prevent Lillard from repeating.
The NBA All-Star Weekend 2025 Starry 3-Point Contest is one of the better events at the circus, with the league’s best shooters competing in a test of accuracy, speed, and consistency from beyond the arc. The contest will take place on Saturday, February 15, at 8 PM ET, and the stacked lineup includes none other than the New York Knicks’ Jalen Brunson!
Other contestants include Cade Cunningham (Pistons), Darius Garland (Cavaliers), Tyler Herro (Heat), Buddy Hield (Warriors), Cam Johnson (Nets), Damian Lillard (Bucks), and Norman Powell (Clippers).
Jalen is averaging 26.1 points and 7.5 assists this season and is hitting 39.7% from downtown.
The format seems to remain the same this year. Each contestant takes five shots from five different spots around the three-point arc, with racks containing four regular balls worth one point each and a special “money ball” worth two points. Additionally, two deep-range shots from the “DEW Zone” add an extra challenge, each worth three points. Players have 70 seconds to complete their shots, and the top three scorers in the first round advance to the finals, where the highest score determines the winner.
Over the years, the contest has produced some of the NBA’s most memorable moments. Stephen Curry set the record for the highest final-round score with 31 points in 2021, while Larry Bird famously won three straight titles from 1986 to 1988. Other past champions include Klay Thompson, Devin Booker, and Damian Lillard. Lillard, the defending champion, will look to retain his title . . . but Jalen’s gonna cook him.
Congratulations, Jalen!
