Julius Randle became eligible to sign an extension at the beginning of August. However, neither the veteran forward nor the New York Knicks seem to be in a rush to get an extension signed.
However, Randle is excited about the Knicks additions this offseason. The 29-year-old believe that the team can be special after adding Mikal Bridges in a trade this summer.
Randle has two years left on the four-year extension he signed with New York in 2021. Randle could sign a three-year extension with the Knicks before the start of the season, if he picks up his player option for 2025-26. If Randle declines that option, he could sign up to a four-year extension through June 30.
Since joining New York in 2019, Randle has made the All-Star team three times. He was voted as the Most Improved Player in the 2020-21 season. Randle also made All-NBA teams in 2021 and 2023.
