Julius Randle refused attempts by the New York Knicks to get him to rest as he played through ankle pain, sources told Stefan Bondy of the New York Post.
The source adds that Randle was playing at around “70 percent” to open the season.
Randle underwent arthroscopic surgery on his ankle in the offseason.
Randle is currently averaging 16.5 points on 31.6% from the field while playing 34.4 minutes per game to start the year.
