“The fans are pretty crazy,” laughed Oubre. “They have a really good culture of being wild and loving basketball to the root and the core of it. They call it the Mecca of basketball for a reason. The lights are super bright. They’re going to give celebrities those $100,00 free tickets just to be there and not care about the game, but that’s what they do. It’s going to be super fun and I look forward to it. It’s one of my favorite places to play.”

With Kelly Oubre Jr. and Nic Batum, the Sixers’ length defensively has posed issues for Jalen Brunson.
Brunson is prepared, and so are the Knicks.
A Nick Nurse defense awaits in Round 1:
“Jalen—He just finds a way. And he’ll continue to find a way.”

Kelly Oubre finishes a nice pass out of a double from Joel Embiid, plus the free throw, and Philly now leads by 3 with 36 seconds to go.

Jimmy Butler is down on the ground after going up for a layup that was contested by Kelly Oubre. Didn’t appear to be much contact at all on the play, but Butler was down for a long time. He’s now up and was trying to walk it off. – 7:46 PM

Jimmy Butler is down and very slow to get up. He seems to be in a good deal of pain and discomfort after taking a hit while leaking out for a layup in transition and colliding with Kelly Oubre Jr. He’s limping now to the bench. – 7:46 PM

More on this storyline
“He made shots,” Oubre said. “He looked normal. He looked like himself. But you could definitely tell the seriousness in his face, in his work ethic, and everything he’s doing in the way he’s carrying himself. “He wants to win, so it’s good to see him moving, doing his thing.” -via The Philadelphia Inquirer / April 15, 2024
Ky Carlin: Kelly Oubre Jr. on any keys to defending Jimmy Butler on Wednesday: “I’m not giving nothing. No keys. He’s smart. He watches this type of stuff. He gets fueled by it. He’s a great basketball player. I’m looking forward to going against him.” #Sixers -via Twitter @Ky_Carlin / April 15, 2024
As the season draws to a close and the playoffs are set to begin, Kelly Oubre is looking to make a statement to everybody, and to the Sixers, that he can be a solid two-way player in this league. He will enter free agency again after the season. “The summer don’t happen until you take care of business right now,” he said. “So no, I don’t foreshadow. I don’t try to think about things like that, but you try to put yourself in the best position possible for the summer but that starts now and today.” -via Sixers Wire / April 4, 2024
