Sit, relax, and enjoy what’s left to unfold on this crazy trade-deadline day.
The Knicks played basketball off the court on Wednesday as they worked out one of the trade deadline’s eve deals, sending Jericho Sims to Milwaukee in exchange for Delon Wright.
It will be another day at the office, literally, for New York’s brass today, as there are no more games on the Knicks’ schedule until Saturday’s showdown against the reigning champs Boston Celtics.
Here’s the latest we’ve heard from Coach Thibs and a few other folks.

On staying focused amid trade speculation:
“You get people talking about this stuff and the important thing is not to get distracted and understand that for every 100 trades that get talked about one gets done. So just stay focused on the things you can control. Stay locked in.”
On Mikal Bridges’ work ethic and ironman streak:
“I think watching him when we first got him, [it’s] the work that he puts in year-round. In the summer, the amount of time he spends in the gym, not only working on the floor but working on his body.
“I’m not surprised he’s got the streak that he does because it’s what he puts into it.
“[It’s] his work. That’s the thing about Jalen [Brunson] and the same could be said for Mikal. When you watch him work every day, you’re not surprised. I think he prepares himself as well as anyone in the league.
“The work that he puts in every day, he builds his body up to withstand the things that he wants to do.”
On Bridges’ durability:
“Sort of has an old-school mentality but he’s a phenomenal worker, has old-school durability. And he does everything extremely well.”
Jalen Brunson
On whether the Knicks should add to the roster ahead of the trade deadline:
“That is a question for our front office.”
“I love everyone in this locker room. Not one person I don’t love. It’s not a like thing. It’s love. I love everyone in here. I’m super excited to come to work everyday to see everyone in this locker room. I just love everyone in this locker room. Can’t stress that enough”

Karl-Anthony Towns
On the never-ending trade speculation going even further following Luka’s trade:
“Really, anyone can be moved. You think I wouldn’t know that?”
On his love for his teammates:
“I love everyone in this locker room. Not one person I don’t love. It’s not a ‘like’ thing. It’s love. I love everyone in here. I’m super excited to come into work every day to see everyone in this locker room. I just love everyone in this locker room. I can’t explain that and stress that enough.”
On his rebounding efforts against the Raptors and pulling down 20, nine offensive:
“You’re just setting a foundation. Offensively, I just wanted to do everything that I can to help us score the ball and keep it on the offensive side. I just wanted to make an impact on the game.”

On removing the no-trade language from his contract last offseason:
“Just seeing what we could do as a team. At the end of the day, the goal is to win.
“It’s a business. Whatever happens, happens. You move on and continue as a pro.”
On dealing with trade deadlines:
“Last year around this time I already got through my part [of the trade deadline]. That was the first time I had to deal with something like this. But it’s part of the business. It comes with it. You have to stay professional. And you’ve got to do what you got to do.
“That was the first time dealing with that midseason. So it was a shock to me, definitely. I’d spent a lot of time (in Toronto) and it’s a place I hold dear to my heart. It wasn’t something I expected at the time.”

On what’s coming the Knicks way:
“DEMONS BACK”
Mike Breen (Living Legend)
On the atmosphere at Madison Square Garden:
“To hear the Garden sound like it’s been sounding the last few weeks, that’s what I always feel so happy for. Maybe I’m not objective on this, but if there’s any fan base that deserves to have a team like this, it’s the Knicks fans.”
On the Knicks’ turnaround under Thibs & Leon:
“I remember years where they won 19 games, you’d be at a game in April, and they’ve been eliminated from playoff contention for months. Now, all these meaningful games—it’s just so much fun to be a part of, so much fun to be in the Garden to watch these guys play.”
On the Knicks’ progress over the past two seasons:
“Last year was as much fun as I’ve had in a long, long time doing Knick games. And this year is the same thing.
“Not only is it clearly a successful team, but it’s a team that plays so well together. They’re so connected.
“It reminds you of the glory days, how those teams played so well, and the group of players is just high character, great guys, unselfish, true professionals.”
