The Walls of Jericho won’t be defended by Sims (out) tonight in Milwaukee.

The Knicks miraculously rested on Thursday after a back-to-back set on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Do you know what’s funny? New York barely escaped such a taxing stint only to have three more such back-to-back affairs in the next few days. Sheesh.

On who steps up next in the guard rotation:

“Delon. We have more than enough.”

On staying ready despite injuries to others:

“You don’t wish for guys to get hurt. But you’ve got to be professional and ready, whether I’m starting or cheering from the bench.”

Karl-Anthony Towns

On trusting Delon Wright:

“We’ve all played against him. He’s a great guard. We know he’s ready.”

On the importance of closing the regular season strong:

“Of course you want to move up in the standings, you never want to move backwards.

“One: It’s important for standings just to be able to have that seed, but two: we want to end the season winning. We want to be in a good spot and feeling good about our games and as a team feeling good about us. So it’s important these last 10 that we ramp up and get ourselves ready for the next step.”

On the guard rotation and mental approach after injuries:

“Yeah, just next guy get in there. So I thought Tyler [Kolek] played well in the first half. And then Delon [Wright], who’s the next guy, get in and get the job done. That’s a big part of your approach, your team’s approach. So I think there’s going to be adversity. You have to be mentally tough. You have to be able to get through that. You have to stay disciplined.”

Josh Hart

On his reaction to Thibodeau after their sideline exchange a few games ago:

Delon Wright

On his frequent role as emergency reinforcement:

“Yeah, the last few years have been like that. It’s the way of the NBA. I’d rather not [always have that fill-in role], but that’s the position sometimes you get put in. You just have to be ready.”

On stepping up due to injuries:

“Oh, yeah, everybody started messing with me, like, ‘Oh, you’re going to have to play today.’ So you never want to see a guy go down, but you know how the NBA is, next-guy mentality. Just got to be ready. Got my trainer here to work me out the past few days. So things just worked out.”

Jalen Brunson

On his injury recovery:

“I’m feeling better, walking, I’m out the boot, officially I know that Thibs said that in the press recently they are just doing everything to get back 100 percent, just working my way—but it’s been kind of terrible.”

On the mental challenge of the injury process:

“Sometimes you think you are making strides and you think you can do more, and there’s something limiting you, but for the most part I’m happy to see the progress of where I’m at.”

On his outlook despite the setbacks:

“I think that’s promising.”

“It’s my understanding Brunson will be back before the playoffs.”
