New York welcomes 2025 hoping to celebrate a damn Knicks championship.
Happy New Year to the Posting & Toasting Fam and all other New York Knicks-related and affiliated people out there!!!
Tis the season, folks, tis the season!
Tom Thibodeau
On Josh Hart’s finishing ability:
“He’s always been a good finisher (at the rim). And I think the way he attacks—he doesn’t really fade.”
On the need to stay consistent and prepared throughout the season:
“You never have it all figured out.
“It’s day-to-day. You have to make that commitment. You have to put work into each and every day.
“And so there are a lot of variables that go into this. Where are you in your schedule? Is it a heavy road month? Is it a heavy home month? How do the games unfold? You have back-to-backs? You have three in four?
“Oftentimes you see when you look at games and you say that team should win that game it doesn’t work that way.”
On guarding against complacency:
“You never can feel too good about it because you can get knocked off easily. And so you always have to guard against that. So if you start feeling too good about yourself that’s usually when you get knocked down. And you can’t skip over anything.
“You have to have urgency. It’s more about the will to prepare than anything else. That’s what gives you confidence. So I think approaching it the right way is huge, a big part of winning.”
On the Knicks having four players scoring 40+ points at least once in a single season:
“It’s a testament to all those guys because it’s all about their willingness to sacrifice for the betterment of the team.
“One night, someone has it going or one guy has a better matchup, whatever it might be, and then the game oftentimes dictates who’s going to get the shot.”
Josh Hart
On opponents scouting his step-through move:
“If you wanna stop me from doing that or keep me off the glass, that’s a game plan. But at the end of the day, at some point, you’re gonna break, whether that’s the five-minute mark of the first quarter or the two-minute mark of the fourth quarter.
“I just know you’re gonna break at some point, and I’ll capitalize, just because that’s ingrained in me.”
On opponents knowing what he’ll do but not being able to stop him anyway:
“There’s a difference between knowing someone is gonna do something and stopping them.”
Karl-Anthony Towns
On the Knicks’ current form:
“I think we’re in a good spot. We’re playing good basketball. We’re not at our best at all.
“I think what’s really good about this team right now is we’re finding ways to win when we’re not at our best. That’s something you’re going to need, especially in the playoffs and in those high-pressure moments in the regular season when you need to scratch out a win.
“I’ve talked a lot about Knicks basketball, that grit it takes to be a Knick. I think all of us are showing that, especially so far this year.”
Jalen Brunson
On the team’s dynamic game plans and not going into matchups knowing who will eat big:
“We have a game plan that we’re just trying to go out there and win and we know we have a lot of weapons.
“We’re going to go from there. We’re going to adjust. That’s everyone’s goal, to win the game.”
On adjusting depending on how games progress:
“It’s all in the flow of the game. We see what’s going on and then we attack from there on.
“It’s not like a planned thing. We’re trying to win a game and whoever’s hot that’s who we’re going with. We’re in a good spot, where we can get better and we’re in a position where we are.
“Not complacent at all.”
Who drunk already lol that’s crazy
