Knicks Bulletin: ‘The X-rays were negative’

Don’t be shocked if the Knicks trade Jalen Brunson today, folks.

New York hosted the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, lost 128-112 without putting up a fight, and allowed LBJ to bag another triple-double on top of landing a certain type of player. Jesus Christ, #thisleague.

Here’s the latest we’ve heard from Coach Thibs and a few Knickerbockers.

Tom Thibodeau

On OG Anunoby’s injury:

“The X-rays were negative. I haven’t talked to medical.”

On the Lakers’ game plan against the Knicks:

“Obviously [the game plan] starts with LeBron, but they’re a lot more than just that. When you look at the way [Austin] Reaves can play, off the dribble, he complements LeBron.

“So they have a number of weapons — and LeBron’s ability to make everyone better. It’s a huge test.”

On LeBron James’ continued dominance at age 40:

“It speaks to who he is and his career. Twenty-one years to do it the way he’s done it, everywhere he’s been, if he’s on the team they’re a threat. So [the Lakers] always have a chance.

“Obviously Anthony Davis is a huge part of that as well. Just the way he can bring the best up, not only out of himself but the people who are around him. The kid Max Christie is having a heck of a year for them, as well. He’s an all-around player. So we have to be ready for him. It’s a dangerous team.”

Jalen Brunson

On OG Anunoby’s injury:

“Obviously praying for the best but I know as much as you guys do right now. Obviously he’s huge for our team, so we’re going to pray (for him). It’s always tough to see something like that, especially when it’s a teammate, someone who means a lot to you and to your team. Like I said, we’re praying for him and just waiting to see what we hear.”

Josh Hart

On losing OG Anunoby to injury:

“We obviously hope he’s good.

“It’s always tough losing one of your guys, the way he’s playing this whole season, especially these last 4-5 games.”

Karl-Anthony Towns

On OG Anunoby’s injury:

“You never want to see that happen to one of your brothers.”

On what happened from his viewpoint on OG Anunoby’s injury:

“We compete until there’s zeros on the clock but it’s still a brotherhood in this league.

“I’m hoping he’s doing okay.”

On playing one more time at the Garden:

“It’s always special coming into this building, we know that. It’s the mecca of basketball.

“It’s probably the greatest basketball arena in the world.”
