The New York Knicks haven’t had much luck this postseason when it comes to the overall health of the team. That being said, they could receive a huge lift for Game 7 against the Indiana Pacers.
According to multiple reports, Knicks forward OG Anunoby has been upgraded to questionable for what could be the team’s final game of the season.
Anunoby has been inactive since Game 2 of the series. He suffered a hamstring strain in the third quarter of that game.
“Knicks F OG Anunoby (hamstring) has been upgraded to questionable and is likely to go through shootaround ahead of Game 7 vs. Indiana on Sunday to determine whether it’ll be possible for him to return to lineup,” ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said.
The Knicks are simply a different team when Anunoby is healthy. Not only does he stretch the floor with his efficient shooting from the 3-point line, he gives Tom Thibodeau a versatile defender capable of guarding multiple positions.
In Game 2 of the series, Anunoby had 28 points in 28 minutes. He looked unstoppable before suffering the hamstring injury.
Unfortunately for the Knicks, Anunoby isn’t the only key player battling an injury before Game 7. Josh Hart suffered an abdominal strain in Game 6. He’ll be compromised this Sunday to say the least.
Of course, we also can’t forget the Knicks are playing without Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson and Bojan Bogdanovic.
