The chemistry looks great as the team prepares for the 2024-25 campaign.
The New York Knicks continued their kick-off of the 2024-25 NBA season with Media Day in Charleston, South Carolina. The event, held ahead of training camp, set the stage for what Knicks fans hope will be a successful (cough-championship-cough) season.
As expected, the vibe today was lighthearted and fun. The team chemistry is evident in the behind-the-scenes video below, which features OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, and Jalen Brunson goofing around for the cameras. It’s a promising sign for Knicks fans who are hoping that off-court bonding translates into on-court success. The camaraderie, especially between defensive stalwarts Anunoby and Bridges—who show off their defensive stances in the clip—is expected to be a key asset for the team this season.

Continuing a gimmick from last year, players shared fun facts about themselves on chalkboards. Deuce McBride revealed that his favorite hobby is philosophy, while Pacome Dadiet confessed he’s not a fan of bagels (wha?!), and Mikal Bridges confided that he’s lactose intolerant.

Since the big trade, we’re still waiting to hear from Karl-Anthony Towns. In the meantime, here’s a clip of KAT talking about the Knicks and playing for Tom Thibodeau, courtesy of Club Shay Shay.
“When my mom immigrated over from D.R., she always went to the Knicks games and I loved my mom. Also, the @nyknicks were one of the few teams that gave my dad a chance in the NBA. … What I respected so, so much about Thibs is that he wanted to win. I appreciate him even more… pic.twitter.com/vTyfwVfEei

And in other news, James L Edwards III (The Athletic) tweeted, “Chuma Okeke will return to the Knicks on a camp deal after being waived as part of the KAT trade.”
After all this lightheartedness, the Knickerbockers will return to the gym, preparing for the upcoming season and Sunday’s first preseason game. We’ll have to wait a little longer to see how the pieces fit together on the court, but for now, the vibes look fairly immaculate.
Go Knicks.
