The Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LIX over the Kansas City Chiefs, and the NBA world reacted. There are plenty of Eagles and Chiefs fans in the NBA, but it is just interesting to see that some of the biggest Eagles fans are on the New York Knicks roster, including Karl-Anthony Towns.
Knicks Stars Celebrate Eagles Super Bowl Win
Some of the biggest NBA stars who cheer for the Philadelphia Eagles are Jalen Brunson and Towns. It is interesting to see players playing in New York cheering for the Eagles, but Towns and Brunson have been hooked long ago.
Towns is a lifelong Eagles fan. He grew up in New Jersey and once even wore an Eagles sweater on the bench during a Knicks game. Jalen grew up in New Jersey as well, but he also played college basketball in Philadelphia at Villanova. Brunson attended the Eagles’ mini camp during the offseason.

With the Eagles winning Super Bowl LIX over the Chiefs, Towns and Brunson took it to social media to show their supper. Towns even showed his Eagles outfit on his Instagram story.

Karl-Anthony Towns, A Lifelong Eagles Fan
Towns is a self-proclaimed “born and bred Eagles fan”. Earlier this year, fans called him out him for wearing an Eagles sweater on the bench. He missed the game with an injury but wore his Eagles gear during a game against the Philadelphia 76ers. After the game, he said,
“I got to be myself. I have been an Eagles fan since I was young and I am always going to stay loyal to my team.”
That was not the first time fans reacted to Towns showing love for the Eagles. In 2018, while playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, he posted his support for the Eagles. At the time, the Eagles beat the Vikings in the NFC title game.
Vikings fans were not as happy and even said that he should be fined.
Josh Hart Joins the Conversation
Josh Hart is another Knicks player who had words for the Kansas City Chiefs after their loss. Hart is not an Eagles fan, but he is not a Patrick Mahomes fan as well. He posted on social media about the star quarterback.
Don’t want to hear no more Brady comparisons

Mahomes has been on a tear lately, and with a chance to three-peat, there were many comparing him to the great Tom Brady. That didn’t happen, and Hart was there to pour some salt on that wound. Mahomes has also lost to Brady in the Super Bowl in 2021.
Philly Fans Have Something to Be Happy About
Fans in Philadelphia deserved some happy and cheerful news this weekend. It has been a bad year for the 76ers. Recently, Joel Embiid talked about how he might need another surgery on his left knee.
Embiid has missed more than 30 games this season. Paul George, the Sixers’ big offseason move, has missed 19 games so far. Tyrese Maxey is the biggest bright spot for Philly basketball fans right now, but he cannot do it alone.
The Sixers are out of a play-in position and might have to wonder whether this season is worth saving.
