A dominant force in the paint has a monster January
As if leading the Israelites out of Egypt and parting the Red Sea weren’t enough, this week Moses was named the NBA G League Player of the Month for January. He beat out John the Baptist, who has an impressive jumper but is foul-prone.
Oops! Wrong fella. Moses Brown is the man of distinction. Center for the Westchester Knicks, Brown averaged 16.7 points and 16.4 boards, while shooting 61% in January. Nicely done!
Congrats, Mo, on being named the NBA G League Player of the Month for January‼️

A native of New York City, Brown (7’2”, 258 lb) attended Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens. His high school dominance earned him McDonald’s All-American honors as a senior, and he went on to play college basketball at UCLA, where he showed potential as a shot-blocker and rebounder.
After going undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft, Brown signed with the Portland Trail Blazers and split time between the NBA and the G League. The 25-year-old next joined the Oklahoma City Thunder on a two-way contract and enjoyed cups of coffee with the Clippers, Mavericks, Cavaliers, Pacers, and Nets.
With the Westchester club this season, Brown has been one of the most productive big men in the G League, averaging 16.1 points and 15.3 rebounds per game. His efforts also secured him a spot in the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities, where he will participate in the G League Up Next Game on Sunday, February 16. As he continues to refine his game, Moses Brown remains a player to watch, and with Jericho Sims recently jettisoned and Mitchell Robinson still sidelined, it’s nice to have Moses waiting in the wings as a bit of insurance.
Congratulations, Mo!
