If the New York Knicks end up winning the NBA Finals this season, fans may demand that Anne Hathaway shows up to the championship parade.
During the Bulls-Knicks game on Nov. 13, OG Anunoby tried to save a ball from going out of bounds. He was fortunate enough to stop himself from flying into the first row of seats at Madison Square Garden. Those watching the game at home noticed that he nearly crashed into Hathaway, who was sitting courtside with her son Jack.
Hathaway posted a video on Instagram the very next day, thanking Anunoby for nearly crossing an item off her bucket list.
“I almost got crashed into last night,” Hathaway said. “I’ve always wanted that to happen. Thanks, OG!”
Since that interaction with Hathaway at MSG, Anunoby has gone on a tear, averaging 24.3 points per game. On Monday night, he had 40 points in a blowout win over the Denver Nuggets.

Not only is Anunoby playing at a high level, the Knicks are starting to look like a serious contender in the Eastern Conference. They’ve gone 5-1 since Hathaway’s appearance. Fans are convinced she’s the team’s good luck charm.
“OG needs to go crashing into Anne Hathaway more often. Knicks might just win a ring,” one fan tweeted.
“The turning point that we will all remember,” another Knicks fan said.
“We need her to come to more games,” a third fan wrote.
Hathaway’s outlook for the rest of the NBA season is unclear at this time. Maybe she’ll attend more Knicks games in the future.
The Knicks signed Anunoby to a five-year, $212.5 million deal because of his ability to excel on both ends of the floor. So far, that contract is looking pretty good for both sides.
