A rather awkward moment occurred during last night’s big game between the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors as a pretty well-known singer got drilled by a basketball.
Video from the game shows that when a Warriors player attempted to make a pass to a teammate, Knicks guard Miles McBride got his hand in to deflect the pass. But in doing so, the ball landed right in the face of legendary singer Jennifer Hudson.
The people sitting around her quickly made sure she was okay, which she was. However, her glasses got knocked clean off her face. She wasn’t exactly happy to see her glasses get hit either.
The announcer found the whole scene pretty wild, declaring that we must “Protect Jennifer Hudson!”

NBA fans found the scene far more amusing than Hudson did:
“Common played a basketball player in a movie so it looks bad that he couldn’t even catch the ball,” one user wrote, referring to Hudson’s husband Common.
“Don’t sit court side if you not locked into a game leave those seats for true basketball fans,” another declared.
Others pointed out that if you’re sitting courtside, you need to be paying attention to the action very well.
“The perils of sitting front row and not watching the game,” wrote a third.
“How do you get hit with the ball sitting court side? Are you not watching the game that cost you thousands of dollars to watch????”
“She look irritated and that’s her right but why are you sitting court side if 1. You not gon pay attention to the game or at least be aware of what’s going on in front of you 2. You don’t want the possibility that you might be unintentionally ran into.”
Hudson seemed fine after the game, which the Knicks went on to lose 114-102.
