New York brings on veteran forward to see if he has anything left in the tank
When Mikal Bridges was traded to the Knicks, all we heard about was the Villanova four that had been created in New York. But since then, there’s been another fun connection that has been quietly brewing. First, it was Cameron Payne. Then, it was Landry Shamet. And now, it’s TJ Warren, who joins the continuously growing list of players that the Knicks have brought in this offseason that have played with Bridges in Phoenix.

Payne, who played with Bridges for a little over three seasons, is the only one guaranteed to make the roster as of now. But with Donte DiVincenzo recently being shipped out, there’s a growing likelihood that Shamet, who played with Bridges for a season and a half, will make the team as well.
Warren, on the other hand, was reportedly signed to just an Exhibit 10 deal, so his chances of making the team are more slim. But if the 31 year-old veteran forward, who hasn’t been the same since undergoing foot surgery in 2020, can somehow make the team, he could give the Knicks some extra end of the bench depth. It’s also a fun sidenote that Warren also played with Karl-Anthony Towns in Minnesota last season.
