The New York Knicks gave Stephen A. Smith indigestion with their Game 4 performance on Sunday.
After the Knicks went into halftime down 69-41, Stephen A.’s colleague Malika Andrews asked him what he would do if he were head coach Tom Thibodeau and Smith immediately launched into his answer with a disgusted tone.
“Well, the first thing I’d do is I’d get out of the bathroom because I just finished throwing up after watching my team play the way that they played in the first half. It was absolutely, positively awful,” Smith said.
“You have to wonder when that level of attrition is going to kick in and affect their motor to some degree,” the ESPN personality continued. “I thought we saw a little bit of that in the fourth quarter of Game 3. That’s what I’m concerned about now.”
Smith wasn’t the only one who took issue with Thibs and the Knicks. The coach’s name began to trend on social media once the game was getting out of control and had people calling for his job.
Thibodeau is known to play his starters as many minutes as possible no matter the situation.
Hopefully this doesn’t affect them too much in Tuesday night’s pivotal Game 5 back in New York.
