Tom Thibodeau and the New York Knicks have agreed to a three-year contract extension that runs through the 27-28 season. The Knicks hired Thibodeau as head coach in 2020 and they have made the playoffs in three of his four seasons. The Knicks have reached the Eastern Conference Semifinals in each of the past two seasons.
Previous reports had indicated that Thibodeau would likely sign an extension worth more than $10 million per season, though the initial reporting didn’t specify a number.
Thibodeau has a career record of 527-398.
The Knicks also signed Jalen Brunson to a contract extension this offseason while acquiring Mikal Bridges in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets and re-signing OG Anunoby as a large part of their core solidifies.
