The Brooklyn Nets are heading into the first year of their latest rebuild and as a result, the franchise’s priorities have shifted towards player development. After trading Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks last month for as many as five first-round picks and three players, Brooklyn is expected to be one of the worst teams in the NBA next season.
While no fan wants to see their team be bad enough to be in position for the first overall pick in any NBA Draft, the Nets are in a position where they will struggle to win games, but developing their young talent is more important at this stage of the organization’s life cycle. Ultimately, Brooklyn was unable to truly find any other star players after the breakup of the Big 3 and the franchise eventually made the right choice in choosing to start from scratch.
