The Nets won’t know the draft order of their five picks for a while, even after their 82nd game.
Even as the final buzzers sounded around the league Sunday afternoon, the NBA Draft order remained uncertain even beyond the lottery which takes place in a month.
As Bobby Marks tweeted, there are a number of ties yet to be broken…
We have 4 sets of ties that need to be broken:

The Brooklyn Nets have the most picks (five) and are the leader in Draft Power Rankings, but their first two picks remain uncertain. As we’ve known since last week, the Nets have the sixth best odds in the May 12 lottery — 9.0% for the overall No. 1 and 37.2%. Also, following Sunday’s game, there’s now that three-way tie involving the Nets, Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors for the 18th through 20th picks. Ties are broken with a digital coin toss at NBA Headquarters in New York usually 10 days after the regular season.
Brooklyn’s three other picks are set:
- No. 26, the New York Knicks pick;
- No. 27, the Houston Rockets pick:
- No. 36, the Nets own second round pick.
As our Lucas Kaplan wrote post-game, if the Nets had not collapsed in Sunday’s game vs. the Knicks, they might have moved up…
by the way, if the Nets had beat the Knicks today.
Their pick would have been anywhere from 22-26…tough loss https://t.co/kkSWtBKsRF

Among the most likely picks in that 18-to-20 range are players like Nolan Traore, the French point guard; Danny Wolf, the multi-talented 7-footer from Michigan; Carter Bryant, the defensive minded wing from Arizona; and Noa Essengue, the big-framed French combo forward.
Meanwhile, the WNBA will hold their draft Monday at The Shed at Hudson Yards. The New York Liberty have the 38th and final pick in the three-round draft. The Draft will air beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET, on ESPN.
