Nic Claxton (back) is practicing again and his status for Friday is “questionable” while Day’Ron Sharpe (hamstring) will be re-integrated into team activities in seven to 10 days.
The Brooklyn Nets big man woes may be improving.
According to word from the Nets PR staff, Nic Claxton, out for the last three games, is very near a return and there is finally some light at the end of the tunnel for Day’Ron Sharpe who has yet to play this season. Without the two bigs, Jordi Fernandez has been into some odd rotations in which Dorian Finney-Smith has taken on guarding opponent centers, not an ideal situation.
Claxton, who has had lower back issues and even had an epidural administered this past weekend, “returned to team practice” Thursday and is listed as “questionable” against the Philadelphia 76ers — and Joel Embiid — on Friday.
Meanwhile Sharpe, whose left hamstring strain has kept him out, is seen as “progressing on schedule.” Specifically, say the Nets, he has begun 1-on-1 workouts with coaches and is expected to be “integrated into team activities in the next 7-10 days.” Back on October 7, the Nets said the 6’10” 23-year-old would be re-evaluated in six to eight weeks.

And in another positive, Cam Thomas who missed the Hornets game on Tuesday after tweaking his back vs. the Knicks Sunday, is “probable” to return to action at the Wells Fargo Center.
However, into each life a little rain must fall (hopefully for New York/New Jersey residents) and Finney-Smith who’s been on a hot streak, is also currently listed as “questionable” with left ankle woes.
Meanwhile, the 2-12 76ers are still hurting. While Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey are healthy, Paul George is day-to-day with a hyper-extended left knee. Kyle Lowry is out with a right hip strain.
