The Brooklyn Nets’ rising star will be sidelined with a hamstring injury.
A surprising Brooklyn Nets season has taken a turn for the worst. On Wednesday afternoon, Shams Charania of ESPN broke the news that starting shooting guard and potential All Star, Cam Thomas, will miss three to four weeks due to a left hamstring strain…
Brooklyn Nets rising star Cam Thomas will miss three to four weeks due to a left hamstring strain, sources told ESPN. Thomas ranks 14th in the NBA in scoring, averaging career highs of 24.7 points on 46.1% shooting from the field and 38.9% from 3. pic.twitter.com/x0W20uCnAT

The injury comes as Thomas was starting to put together his best pro season. CT is averaging career highs in points (24.7), assists (3.4) and has shot with improved efficiency (46.1 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from three point range), both career highs.
His ability to finish at the rim has always been one of his strengths and it has kept the Nets halfcourt offense afloat for many a possession
Cam joins an increasingly extended injury list for Brooklyn, as laid out on the official Nets site shortly after the Shams tweet.

To summarize:
In addition to Thomas, Noah Clowney is out with an ankle sprain and won’t be re-evaluated for three weeks, Jaylen Martin, the two-way, suffered a knee bruise Sunday in a G League game and won’t be re-evaluated for one to two weeks. Nic Claxton, out tonight, says his back strain is “long term” issue that he will have to “manage.” There’s no word yet on when Bojan Bogdanovic who has yet to play this season will return. He’s due for another re-evaluation next month.
The only good news is that Day’Ron Sharpe is expected to be activated and be ready to play “within the next week.” Without Claxton and Clowney, the Nets have had to rely on 6’9” Ziaire Williams at the 5.
With Thomas out, the team will rely more on Dennis Schroder to initiate the offense following his amazing game against the Golden State Warriors on Monday night. However, he like veterans Dorian Finney-Smith and Cam Johnson are reportedly on the trade block as Sean Marks & Co. continue the Brooklyn rebuild. The unofficial start of the NBA trade season is December 15 and the trade deadline February 6.
