Pro-tankers are sweating ‘til the final day of the season.
As a fan of a NBA team, you hope to be celebrating wins at this point of the season. Not in Nets World, at least not for some. The Nets are in a battle for a bottom-five record as the Sixers continue its egregious tank. Otherwise, Jordi Fernandez continues to prove that the Nets will compete no matter who’s on the floor. The latest “next man up” has been Drew Timme, averaging 15 points in his first two NBA games.
NETS VS. MAVERICKS
Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
Opponent: Dallas Mavericks (37-38)
Tune In: YES Network (Gotham Sports App); WFAN radio
NOTE: Games on April 3, 6, 8, 11, and 13 will be televised on “New York 55” … or you can stream on the Gotham Sports App. Yankees baseball is back.
Game Preview | Brian Fleurantin
Injuries: Cam Thomas, Noah Clowney, De’Anthony Melton, Day’Ron Sharpe and Cam Johnson is out after being listed as questionable with a lower back contusion sustained when he fell under the basket vs. Washington.
Olivier-Maxence Prosper, Dante Exum, and Kyrie Irving are out. Dereck Lively II is a late scratch as he recovers from a stress fracture in his right ankle. Daniel Gafford is available. Same for Anthony Davis.
The Game: Thanks to the spectacular incompetence of the Phoenix Suns, the Mavs still find themselves in ninth place in the play in standings. Everything is funny. Now that we’re in the dog days of the NBA season, the focus goes to guys who are trying to make a name for themselves and secure a permanent place in the league. So that means Nets fans will be watching Drew Timme extra closely! Timme hit the game winner on Saturday night and has made the absolute most of his time on the big club so far. With the injuries in the frontcourt, look for him to get plenty of time out there tonight
