Tankfest in North Carolina.
VC weekend was fun. Now the reality sets back in.
The Nets and Hornets are tied in the standings for the fourth-worst-record in the NBA. Don’t expect either team’s front office to be overly upset when they lose. On Brooklyn’s side, the draft stock is increasing by the minute. They’ve lost 12 of its last 13 games and the only thing stopping the skid is the sole fact that they’re playing against another team that isn’t trying to win.
It’ll pay off in the long run, but what a shameful sentence to type out. Moving on…

Game Preview | Jordan Greene
The Game: The Charlotte Hornets are now in the same “zombie” era that the Nets went through to close out 2024. They will certainly miss their superstar in Lamelo Ball, who has made a strong case for being the best point guard in the east. With averages of 28 and 7, Lamelo is sharing the same riches as his brother LiAngelo (who is enjoying the fruits of his labor with his new hit song.)
Injury Report: No Cam Thomas, Noah Clowney, Cam Johnson, Bojan Bogdanovic, Maxwell Lewis, and DeAnthony Melton (by now, you know the reasons.) Dariq Whitehead has also been assigned to Long Island. Ben Simmons and D’Angelo Russell are available.
For the Hornets, Cody Martin (abdomen), Tre Mann (back), Lamelo Ball (ankle), Josh Green (foot), Mark Williams (foot), Brandon Miller (wrist), and Grant Williams (knee) are all out. Sheesh.
