Wemby and the Spurs visit Brooklyn in its last home game of the year.
A win is a win. In doing so, the Nets hurt the value of their pick but they also increased the value of Milwaukee’s pick (also their pick). Those Milwaukee games have become a double-edged sword and they’re done for the season — a series which Brooklyn took two of three.
Tonight, they play their final home game of the 2024 with French phenom Victor Wembanyama visiting the ‘Clays in what’s expected to be a sold-out crowd. There’s a ton of hoops fans in New York and when someone like Wemby’s in town, it’s a must-see game.
GOODBYE 2024, FROM BROOKLYN
Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
Opponent: San Antonio Spurs (15-15)

GAME PREVIEW | Brian Fleurantin
Injuries: No Cam Thomas, Cam Johnson, Bojan Bogdanovic, Ziaire Williams, DeAnthony Melton or Trendon Watford. Dorian Finney-Smith will return from his left calf contusion last night. Night two of a back-to-back so we’ll see if anyone else sits this out.
All clear for the players. We’re sending out best wishes to Gregg Popovich as he continues to recover from a stroke.
The game: Even if you’re not close to contention, it helps to have solid veterans who have years of big game experience. Over the summer, San Antonio brought in Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes to help the youngsters out and teach them more about the NBA. Having solid hands to depart bits of wisdom while still playing good minutes goes a long way in helping a young team grow. Speaking of those youngsters, we’ll see two of them tonight. Devin Vassell is their lead perimeter option and has shot a career best 38.8 percent from three point range. A knee injury has kept him to only 15 games and around 27 minutes a night. The further he gets away from the injury, the better his game will look. The other youngster has a good chance to make the All Rookie team. Stephon Castle has been pretty solid coming off the bench and at just 20 years old, is a player Spurs fans will be watching closely for many years.
