The Brooklyn Nets have chosen to enter a rebuild this offseason after they traded Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks in exchange for as many as five first-round picks and three player last month. Now that Brooklyn is headed in a different direction, it seems that the general public anticipates a losing season in the worst way.
As of this writing, BetMGM has the Nets’ over/under for their regular-season wins in the 2024-25 season at 19.5 wins. Despite the excitement of Brooklyn’s fanbase to see how the young players on the roster will perform with more playing time, it also means that the team is not expected to be very good.
For context, the Nets being listed at 19.5 win is the lowest in the league with the Portland Trail Blazers (21.5) having the second-lowest over/under in terms of win totals. Similar to Brooklyn, Portland is looking to unload some veterans in an attempt to open up more playing time for more of the young players.
Last season, the Nets came into the regular season with win totals hovering around 37.5 wins so their current listing shows just how much the team has lost this offseason. However, during a rebuild, player development is what matters and winning games will come at some point.
