No surprise to see the Nets resting Ben Simmons on the front end of a back to back.
– He’s attempted TWO shots in the 2nd half through 3 games this season.
– Worst +/- on the team (-11.3).
Tonight’s game should be a good indicator who they are without him. – 2:29 PM

Dennis Schroder was +27 in 35 minutes last night. Ben Simmons was -9 in 24 minutes.
Jordi Fernandez has stuck with the two-PG starting lineup in Brooklyn’s first three games. He’ll soon face a decision on that, with Nic Claxton expected to return to the unit at some point. – 1:04 PM

First play of the game, the Bucks dump it into Giannis with Ben Simmons covering him. He dumps it to Brook Lopez, who scores on Dorian Finney-Smith.
Gonna say this small-ball lineup might have issues against that frontline. – 6:15 PM

Erik Slater: Ben Simmons (lower back injury management) is OUT for the Nets tomorrow vs. Denver. Dariq Whitehead, Tyrese Martin, Jaylen Martin, and Jacky Cui are questionable due to G-League assignments. Bojan Bogdanovic, Day’Ron Sharpe, and Trendon Watford remain OUT. -via Twitter @erikslater_ / October 28, 2024
A video posted to social media captured what appeared to be a young fan calling Simmons “trash” after the Nets star passed him in the players’ tunnel at Kia Arena in Orlando after Brooklyn fell 116-101 to the home team on Friday night. Simmons kept walking but said: “Why didn’t you say it when I was there, p–y?” The situation didn’t end there. Nets guard Dennis Schroder — in his second season in Brooklyn — came back and asked a different fan, “Who taking s–t about Ben?” The fan immediately pointed down the line. Schroder went over and confronted the heckler, but what was said could not be made out on the video. An adult — who the social media post claims is the person’s father — tried to get the young fan to walk away from the situation as other Nets players lingered. The situation finally diffused after a short argument between the heckler and Schroder. -via New York Post / October 27, 2024
Nearly two-thirds of their offensive production in the season opener came from players 25 years old or younger. Get used to names like Jalen Wilson, Noah Clowney and Ziaire Williams, because if youth is being served in Brooklyn they’ll all play a part. “Yeah, they’re taking leaps,” Ben Simmons said of Brooklyn’s crop of youngsters. “I think just overall, their willingness to learn on the floor and just get to their spots and having that confidence to take the shots that they’re open with, and they’re just going to continue to grow and get better. I love their games.” -via New York Post / October 26, 2024
