68 teams are officially going dancing. But while dozens more are going home, four teams will be left tearing their hair after only narrowly missing out on the NCAA Tournament.
The first four out of the NCAA Tournament officially are Oklahoma State, Rutgers, North Carolina and Clemson. They lost spots to the last four in: Arizona State, Nevada, Pitt and Mississippi State.
Clemson went 23-10 after starting the season with a dazzling 18-4 record. At one point they were 10-1 in the ACC but stumbled down the stretch and were a 3-seed in the ACC Tournament.
UNC went 20-13 after reaching the national title game last season. They similarly stumbled after a hot start and were only the 7-seed in the ACC Tournament, where they lost to Virginia.
Rutgers went 19-14 with wins over Purdue, Northwestern and Indiana on their resume. But losing six of their last eight games after a 16-7 start doomed them.
Oklahoma State went 18-15 and were 16-9 at one point in the season. But five straight losses in February dropped the to seventh in the conference tournament and ultimately out of the tournament.
All four of those teams are going to have a lot of soul searching to do in the days and weeks to come.
