Talk about a B1G NCAA Tournament snub.
Originally, March Madness bracketologist Joe Lunardi had the Rutgers Scarlet Knights as one of his ‘Last Four In’ as the No. 11 seed in the Midwest bracket. But that all came crashing down once seeding was announced.
The sports world reacted to Rutgers losing out on a bid to go dancing across social media.
“Oh so you are telling me Rutgers didn’t make the Tournament?” asked BetMGM.
“Rutgers fans right now,” tweeted Barstool Sports.
“Providence (No. 56 NET, 4-8 Quad 1) in at No. 11. Rutgers (No. 40 NET, 4-7 Quad 1) not in. That is a shockingly bad decision,” said Kristian Dyer.
“Rutgers looking at the NCAA Tournament,” commented Ben Stevens.
“Rutgers is an all-time tournament snub. The Scarlet Knights were absolutely robbed.”
“Rutgers fans after they missed the tourney,” said Action Network.
“Selection committee chair Chris Reynolds says injuries/health situations affected seeding and selection, mentions Rutgers. Since Mawok Mag was injured, Scarlet Knights went 3-7. They’re out,” tweeted Pat Forde.
A tough one to swallow for fans in New Jersey.
