Fresh off averaging 8.2 points and 6.8 rebounds with Expressions Elite at Peach Jam, 6-foot-11 Cardinal Hayes big man Steven Solano visited St. John’s on Monday.
St. John’s assistant Van Macon was at Peach Jam all week and has been in hot pursuit of the athletic, versatile big man.
“Their message is [head coach Rick] Pitino is the greatest of all time,” Hayes coach Joe Lods told ZAGSBLOG. “Hard to dispute.
“Steven is really coming along. He has put on significant muscle at Hayes and he has really improved his footwork and scoring ability. He has tremendous work ethic and he is about to have a big senior year in the Catholic league. I would love to see Steven playing in Carnesecca Arena and Madison Square Garden.”
