Former St. John’s player Rafael Pinzón makes his return to Queens on Wednesday night. The Arecibo, Puerto Rico native attended Long Island Lutheran alongside Andre Curbelo before playing two seasons with the Red Storm, from 2021 to 2023, averaging 4.9 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 32 games played and two starts.
After Mike Anderson was fired in March 2023, Pinzón entered the transfer portal and committed to Bryant. Last season, he averaged 13.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while shooting 41% from the field and 35.4% from three in 33 games and four starts.
Pinzón is now leading the Bulldogs in scoring in his senior season, averaging 19.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting 45.3% from the field and an incredible 52.6% from three, which ranks ninth-best in the nation.
