Come and chat with your fellow Red Storm fans for tonight’s consolation game in the Baha Mar Bahamas Championship against Virginia
Suffice to say Thursday was a terrible night for St. John’s men’s basketball. You know the story of what went down and we’re not going to belabor it.
What remains to be seen is how the Red Storm will respond after an excruciating, physically and mentally taxing loss on such short notice as they take on the Virginia Cavaliers in the third-place consolation game of the Baha Mar Bahamas Championship.
Virginia was blown out by Tennessee in the second game of the Baha Mar doubleheader, 64-42. Kansas State transfer Dai Dai Ames was the only Cavalier to score in double figures with 12 points (3-of-8 FG). Leading scorer Isaac McKneely (16.0 ppg entering Thursday) was held to four points (1-of-6 FG).
KenPom currently ranks Virginia as the 87th-best team in the country, with an adjusted offensive efficiency ranking of 169th and an adjusted defensive efficiency ranking of 39th.
