St. John’s hosted Miami transfer Bensley Joseph on an overnight visit starting Sunday.
The 6-foot-2 Arlington, VA native averaged 9.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists in his third season at Miami. He was recently ranked the No. 10 point guard in the portal.
“My visit went great, their message was great and I’m really enjoying my visit here,” Joseph said Monday by text.

St. John’s will lose point guard Daniss Jenkins, the team’s best player, but is expected to return freshman point guard Simeon Wilcher, who flashed his skillset towards the end of the season, including a 12-point game against DePaul on March 5.
Wilcher’s former Roselle (NJ) Catholic teammate Cliff Omoruyi also remains on the St. John’s radar.

He was unable to visit on Monday due to a class but St. John’s is targeting a visit from him in the coming weeks. Matt Abdelmassih, who serves as the program’s general manager, was Omoruyi’s agent at Octogan when he tested the waters last offseason.
Omoruyi has been contacted by a ton of high-major teams, most recently including Kentucky, Kansas and Baylor.
The 6-foot-11 native of Nigeria averaged 10.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.9 blocks this season at Rutgers.
