The Johnnies will deservedly play on a bigger stage for Senior Day on March 1
By popular demand, the Johnnies will have another Garden game this season.
St. John’s announced that they are changing venues for their March 1 Senior Day game versus Seton Hall from Carnesecca Arena to Madison Square Garden. This site change gives the Red Storm nine home games at the World’s Most Famous Arena this year — their most in a single season since 2014-15. Tip-off for this game is slated for 2:15 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on CBS.
The Johnnies are hoping to replicate the 28-point trouncing of Seton Hall in their first meeting this season back on January 18. Former Pirate Kadary Richmond posted 12 points, five rebounds, and six assists in his homecoming game at Prudential Center.
St. John’s has not defeated Seton Hall in a regular season home game since the 2020-21 COVID-impacted season and hasn’t beaten the Pirates at home in front of fans since the 2018-19 season.
In the meantime, No. 9 St. John’s will return to the Garden this weekend. The Red Storm are hoping to bounce back versus No. 24 Creighton on Sunday afternoon after suffering a heartbreaking two-point loss against Villanova to snap their ten-game winning streak. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on FS1.
