Syracuse wide receiver Jackson Meeks has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. The honor for Meeks comes following a career-high 10-catch, 161-yard performance versus Holy Cross.
Often lined up in the right outside receiver position, Meeks was targeted 12 times by SU quarterbacks Kyle McCord and Michael Johnson Jr. while playing a season-high 46 snaps. According to Pro Football Focus, Meeks earned a 90.5 overall grade for his performance.
The senior found the end zone on the first play of the second quarter, a 38-yard strike down the right sideline where he lost his defender. Meeks found his stride through big-play ability, recording five catches for 15 yards or more.
Meeks is the fourth SU player to earn a conference award this season and third on offense, following McCord and left tackle Da’Metrius Weatherspoon’s honor following a Week 2 win over then-No. 23 Georgia Tech.
