The Orange are one step closer to bringing in one of their top targets.
One of the best class of 2025 recruits and son of Syracuse Orange men’s basketball legend Carmelo Anthony is now down to three schools he is deciding between.
Kiyan Anthony, a consensus top-50 prospect in 2025, put the Orange within his top-three among the programs he will be choosing to commit to. The other schools in Anthony’s top-three list of finalists are USC and Auburn. On3’s Joe Tipton was the first to report.

Back around the end of July, Anthony named Syracuse as one of his top-six schools, now dropping Ohio State, Rutgers and Florida State from the picture. Among Syracuse and the other two remaining schools on his list, Anthony already received offers from the Orange and USC. He has yet to receive one from Auburn.
Anthony currently ranks as a top-50 prospect for the class of 2025 among the four major sites: On3 (No. 30), 247Sports (No. 34), ESPN (No. 36) and Rivals (No. 48). On3, 247Sports and ESPN all have Anthony ranked as a top-10 shooting guard for his class.
In past interviews with On3, Anthony touted the program’s young core, the “togetherness” of the team and the vision coach Adrian Autry and company have for the program when it comes to recruitment in 2024 and 2025.
“When I speak with the coaches, they let me know the vision. The type of players they’re recruiting and who all they think will be around. I liked all the stuff I heard from them,” Anthony previously told On3.
Syracuse’s current recruiting class for 2025 includes two players: power forward Sadiq White (five-star on ESPN, four-star with On3, 247Sports and Rivals) and Aaron Womack, a six-foot-five wing who just committed to the Orange on Monday.
There is no confirmed date on when Anthony will make his final decision as of Tuesday night.
Per usual, we will keep you updated on the latest new for Syracuse on the recruitment front.
