Whistle introduces us to another side of the 2025 commit
As the Syracuse Orange prepare to travel to face NC State this weekend, one of the future Orange was featured in the “No Days Off” series produced by Whistle.
The three-star, top 100 offensive line recruit from DeSoto Texas committed to Syracuse back in March. It was a move that surprised many as he had offers from Texas and Oregon among others.
Watching this video, you can see why Washington might have been impressed by the team culture instituted in Syracuse by Fran Brown. Washington’s determination is obvious as the high school senior overcame major surgery after growing six inches in a single month while he was in the sixth grade.
In the profile below, he talks about the importance of faith and family and you can see how Syracuse landed a commitment from a Texas powerhouse. Hopefully we see Byron and his “uncle” Shaq in the JMA Dome in 2025, we think Byron’s the type of player that Orange fans will be happy to see clearing the way for Yasin Willis and others in the future.
