Let’s go pink and green?
The Syracuse Orange will have a different look for this week’s game against Bye Week U.
That’s right Syracuse is throwing it back to their original school colors for this one-rose pink and pea green. Syracuse decided that this match-up would be a good time to dig out the uniforms which honor sports teams from 1870-1889.
The color switch is likely to confuse a good portion of the Syracuse fanbase who will have to decide if they wear that one green Syracuse shirt that they usually save for St. Patrick’s Day festivities or do they dig out that shirt that used to be white with orange lettering until it got stuck in the wash with red socks…..just don’t wear blue folks since that’s what Bye Week U will be wearing this week.
In a bit of interesting history related to the official colors, the first paid Head Coach of Syracuse Football was Robert Winston. Winston coached Syracuse for one season in 1890 and then became the first Head Coach at Georgia in 1894…..don’t get any ideas Fran. If you are going to Georgia, then you can’t leave after one season.
