Chris Carlson keeps Syracuse 5th this week between Pittsburgh and Louisville.
ESPN
In this week’s SP+ rankings Syracuse holds in the 51st spot with the offense 35th while the defense ranks 64th and special teams 116th. The Orange are ranked between JMU and Maryland. Pittsburgh is ranked 30th with both their offense and defense 39th. The Panthers special teams unit is ranked 6th by SP+ so that’s something to keep an eye on.
The Football Power Index bumps Syracuse up one spot to 61st place between Nebraska and Mississippi State. FPI predicts the Orange for 7.1 wins and gives them a 92% chance of making a bowl game. Pittsburgh is ranked 33rd by FPI this week.

CBS Sports
In the CBS Sports power rankings Syracuse is up four spots to 27th between Vanderbilt and Washington State. Pitt is 15th in these rankings.
The Athletic
The Orange jumps up eight spots to 26th in The Athletic’s Top 134 Power Rankings placing them still in between Washington State and UNLV. Pitt is 18th this week
AP and Coaches Poll
Pitt is ranked 19th in the AP and 20th in the Coaches Poll. Syracuse received fifteen votes in the AP Poll and twenty-seven votes in the Coaches Poll putting them as the 2nd team outside the top 25 in both.
